Sketched this pattern in my sketchbook the other day and wanted to do it quickly in Illustrator. Happy Weekend!

Playin' with Patterns

I just wanted to play around making some patterns-- specifically florals and geometric. Wanted to just practice and mess around with different techniques. Keepin' it fresh!

You Need to Calm Down

I guess I've had a little bit of anxiety lately? Every body just needs to calm down.

Here are the patterns that are in this piece--

Sweets

Can you spot all the little guys hoarding all the sweets?

What's My Age Again?

My sister and I have been working up a storm writing and illustrating our blog, http://whatsmyageblog.wordpress.com . Check it out! Lots of new posts!

Arms

If you spell something out with these letters, you won't know what direction to go in or who's hand to shake!

Snakes on a Plane

Well, not exactly on a plane, but there seems to be an influx of snakes in my yard this year-- and BIG snakes too, which my dad has so lovingly named "Sammy" and his brother "Mel"...? I don't know either, but it inspired me to make a pattern of all these snakes!

First Dance

My 13 year old cousin recently told me that he had his first slow dance with a girl the other night at a birthday party. By the end of the story, I was rolling on the ground laughing from how awkward and cute it was. I did a quick illustration of a first slow dance, and it brings back many memories of 6th grade dances and screeching girls.

Bugs

Since Spring has finally decided to arrive, I made a bug pattern, since warmer weather brings lots of bugs. I find this more pleasant than the actual thing!

I love Stationery.

We had a double whammy of a weekend-- it was my Mom's birthday AND Mother's Day on the same day. So you know what that means...MORE CARDS! My mom is a piano player and loves Mozart, so I knew that Mozart jumping out of a birthday cake would make her smile the most!

For the Mothahs.

I made this paper flower wreath for my mom for Mother's Day. I "molded" the flowers out of newspaper and masking tape, and then painted them in fun colors and added a few simple patterns. I've really been enjoying working in a more 3D way, and I'm brainstorming more things to make!
