Holiday Wreath

A cold afternoon last week, I found it extremely urgent to make this wreath for my door. And now I just can't stop staring at it! It's all made out of paper!

Holiday Cards

I wasn't kidding when I said I love making cards! This is my holiday card for 2016-- this looks a lot happier than 2016 actually was, but let's end on a high note ok? Happy Holidays everyone!

Christmas Time is...ALREADY HERE??!!

I just cannot get over the fact that it is already the holiday season again! I've been making a lot of Christmas and Holiday cards these past couple of weeks and it still isn't sinking in. But at least this camel is making me very happy.

Holiday Market

This past weekend I was involved in the Wickham Works Holiday Market in Warwick, NY. It was so much fun, I met a lot of really awesome people, and saw some really amazing work by local artists. Can't wait for another event like it!

I made the banner

There were demos of glass blowing and metal working outside, under these magical tin foil stars.

This is the Wickham Works Shop, which consisted of 20 different artists involved with this group. My wares are right up front!

My box of prints were dubbed "the deal of the weekend"...that's definitely going on my testimonial page.

To learn more about Wickham Works and everything they want to accomplish, check out their website, http://www.wickhamworks.org!

Naked And Afraid

Just a fun project I wanted to do as a cut paper diorama type piece. No one wants to be naked AND afraid while they're in the woods!

Appalachian Trail Part 2!

Over the weekend I went on another backpacking trip on the Appalachian Trail. We had beautiful weather and a lot of great memories that will definitely stay with me for a very long time. Nature's awesome.

Sushi

I haven't had sushi in a while, but it sure has been on my mind!

Obsessed Inspired

I moved into my own apartment back in June, so the last few months have all been about decorating and turning every room into the apartment I've always dreamed of. I needed a painting or something for over my bed, so I figured I'd slowly work on a new project as a way to relax after a long day in front of the computer...until I became so obsessed with working on the painting, I finished it in 3 days! What can I say, I just love to decorate! I gotta knock these puppies out!

Saturday Outdoor Painting Extravaganzaaaaaaaa!

This past weekend, I attended an En Plein Air painting day at a local farm. It was so much fun-- A beautiful day, a beautiful setting, and I met a lot of great artists. It was so cool to see how everyone interpreted the same location in so many different ways. I went with the colorful, patterned-filled interpretation (of course) and am looking forward to when they hold their next event!

This one is still a work-in-progress...sitting in the sun for 4 hours was really exhausting!

I have been HORRIBLE about posting new work//fun sketches//brain dumps here. This summer was so busy frolicking through fields of daisies that I just wanted to keep everything to myself! Here's a big cut paper piece that I worked on for a few months to #digitaldetox after a long day on the computer. I worked on it from May until about July-- that's a lot of flowers.

It started out like this...

and ended up here!

**MAGIC**

I've been playing around with a lot of typography lately, which has been a challenge but a lot of fun! I saw this stamped on a tree last weekend on the Appalachian Trail and it really stuck with me. Doesn't everyone want a little bit of magic in their lives?

Wednesday, June 29, 2016

I hiked a (small) portion of the Appalachian Trail this past weekend. It was really tough but really awesome. I still wish I was out there. Just being able to think while being deep in the mountains is really inspiring. It's amazing where you're brain goes when all you have to do is walk.

Before the hike actually started...so I was still amped and wide awake haha

My pack was 26 pounds, with water!

Figure Drawing

Last night I went to a figure drawing session and it was so nice to be back doing it! (I didn't have to be dragged in kicking and screaming...how times have changed!) It was really relaxing after a day at work to just be drawing with people who enjoyed art as well, and I'm definitely going to go back. Here are a few of the  drawings I did.

Mother's Day

Yesterday was Mother's Day! I hope everyone treated their mama's like ladies. I was very pleased with my wrapping job for my mom's present:

For one of her presents, I drew from a picture of me, my sister, and my mom from back in the day-

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mama's out there!

Cinco de Mayo!!

Today is the best day of the year. It's Cinco de Mayo! And if I ever needed more reason to have Mexican food, today is the day to do it. Margaritas! Chips and salsa! Quesadillas! Burritos! Ok, ok, you get the point. Avocado man is back again, so remember what your avocados had to go through today for your bottomless chips and guac basket.

Commissioned Paintings

I was asked by a friend to do 2 paintings for her and the assignment was ANYTHING I WANTED TO DO! The absolute dream, but it was actually really a challenge for me. But I'm really happy with how they turned out and I can see myself doing more work in this style.

Illustrator Problems

The struggle is real when you step on your very nice, 24 inch ruler. To be positive, now I have 2 rulers? Quit your complaining, BACK TO WORK!

Spring Please Spring

Winter cold has decided to return to NJ, but I'm keeping a positive attitude in hope that Spring will come back and bring happiness throughout the land.

Not a Self Portrait

I call it, Gravity. And don't worry, this is not a self portrait, as I'm sure you were all worried.
