3 days til Christmas!

   Santa is getting antsy that Christmas is so soon! I told him that he needs to pull it together.

    The Holidays are in full swing around here-- I don't seem to be getting tired of drawing anything festive. This time around, I drew a nice little holiday party scene for my sister and the concert band that she is involved in, the Grand Street Community Band in Brooklyn. Family Christmas Card 2015

      I have been in charge of designing the family christmas card for the last couple of years, and being someone who loves making cards, this is a dream come true! This year I went for a cut paper look, and had so much fun making it. Happy Holidays!

  Yowza! It's been a really long time-- this just means I've been working on a lot of projects that I'm not allowed to show at this point, but in the meantime, spread some christmas cheer with this nice Holiday Card!

Painting Like a Lady

  Wow! It's been a long time, haven't really had the chance to do any personal work lately! This weekend I was finally inspired to paint, which has not happened in quite some time. I put the tunes on and just painted, letting the color dictate what I painted. It was so much fun, hopefully this keeps up and I'll do more.

Beach Day

    Over the weekend, I went to Fire Island! What a beautiful day to bag some rays and log some beach day snoozin'. I did this little illustration in my sketchbook to remind people to not get sunburned....based on Instagram posts on Saturday night/Sunday morning, no one took my advice!

Happy Fourth of July!

    I absolutely love the fourth of July! Between the summer weather, the cook outs, the fireworks, and the overall Americana feel, it's just the best! I hope everyone had a good weekend, and we'll continue the USA pride with a few fourth of July themed patterns!

Mosaic Class up in the Catskills

   Last weekend, I took a 3 day mosaic class up in the Catskills, NY. It was so great to be learning something new, and then getting to be in a studio working on it for 10 hours a day. A very relaxing and great way to recharge and get inspired again! Cut fingers and a sore back, but all in all, it was a great weekend!

Carnegie Hall Poster

    My sister is in a community band in Brooklyn, and they are playing at Carnegie Hall this Saturday, June 6th! For the band's blog, she researched some fun facts about Carnegie Hall and asked if I could do some spot illustrations to go along with it. Sketch Day!

    Last Friday, I took a much needed sketch day to just shake out the cobwebs and get inspired with art again. It helped so much and was a lot of fun-- something I'm definitely going to make into more of a routine. It also helped that it was probably one of the most beautiful days we've had so far!

    Over the weekend, my sister went to Fishs Eddy and took some pictures of my dishtowels! They seem to be doing quite nicely, especially in their new displays.    I designed some icons for my friend Adam and his company Dragonfly Effect Naturals. They are illustrating the fact that by putting an end to the oral health and water crisis, it allows children and adults to continue to go to school and their places of work (toothaches are the #1 reason for absences in many countries), provide self confidence with a beautiful smile, and improve overall health in these countries.    I've been lucky enough to get to do some illustrations for my friend Adam and his company Dragonfly Effect Naturals. His products (detox toothpaste, bulletproof mouthwash) are made by using all natural, vegan ingredients, and anything purchased helps someone in need. He is raising awareness of the oral health crisis, exposing toxic water fluoridation and helping to end it, and bringing clean water to parts of the world that don't have access to it. Patterned Bear

   I was in the Catskills this weekend and the beautiful weather and surroundings were so inspiring and relaxing. So as I was sketching, I made this little patterned bear walking through the woods-- mixing my two favorite things, patterns and outdoors!

   As much as I love sweaters, I've officially decided that summer outfits are the best type of outfits. That is all I have to say.

   I always forget how much I love working with cut paper. I did these two colorful cut paper patterns and it has definitely inspired me to do more, so be on the look out!
